It was about 64 degrees and sunny. Airon spent much of the day with his face buried in a book about Greek Mythology. His interest was piqued by the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series he read over the past year. Imagine his excitement when he found out a movie was made of The Lightning Thief. We're all looking forward to seeing that movie. The release date is February 12th.Fortunately, the public library had three different books on Greek Mythology. I checked them all out. He's read them quickly, and is currently in the process of reading them again. As luck would have it, ERCLC is offering a class on Greece this semester for 6-8 grade. Perfect! I love it when his education comes together independent from me.

And something more for Airon to get excited about...we saw Rick Riordan at the National Book Fair this fall and he said that his next book is about to come out and it is based on Egyptian mythology. Jason is SO psyched (he has loved everything Egypt from the time he was 5).
You triggered a memory, Stacy. When Jim was 9 or 10, he went off to a week at camp with a big book of Greek Mythology packed in his suitcase.
